Introduction
The title for the best gaming companies will always be up for debate as preferences will vary from one individual to another. To avoid such confusions, Web.com Reviews has listed the best gaming companies based on their Metacritic ratings. The website rates companies based on their activity, i.e., the number of games launched by said company in any given year. However, some additional info about the companies will also be mentioned such as popularity, reputation, and gamer satisfaction.
The gaming industry is in turmoil right now. The loot box debacle followed by the unfinished and unpolished games being launched at full price and charging for extra content has painted the gaming industry in a shade of grey. However, we will come to that when we discuss specific companies.
The Best
Here are some of the best gaming companies -
1. Capcom - Though Capcom reached the top of Metacritic’s list, most of it was thanks to the remasters of previously existing games. No new games were added to Capcom's lineup barring a few. The latest ‘Monster Hunter’ title is by far the best-selling game in the company’s history.
The 40-year old company also maintained an 83.3% success rate, receiving positive reviews for every 5 out of six products.
The ‘Monster Hunter’ title was in Steam’s top 10 list for quite a while and is a stunning example of a well-balanced game with a justified price tag and premium design and finish. Capcom is one of the companies that managed to maintain their integrity amidst all the loot box drama.
2. Sega - Sega single-handedly releases more games than any of the other top companies. They have a well-maintained follower base and do a great job at creating fun and interactive games. The company recently acquired Atlus, another gaming company, that now shared top-level management with Sega and also contributes to the total games published by Sega as well.
3. EA - EA has been the topic of debate for quite a while. Although it managed to maintain the no.3 position on the Metacritic list, it is one of the least favored companies in the entire gaming industry.
The biggest success of EA is ‘FIFA’, which is responsible for the majority of its revenue. However, the company is also responsible for single-handedly riling up the entire gaming community to the point where they now relate EA to nothing but a disaster.
EA’s hungry monetary schemes prey upon their player base, giving a significant advantage to sharks who spend a ton of money and destroy the gaming experience of players who cannot afford to drop 1000 dollars for “surprise mechanics”.
However, EA gets a free pass thanks to the popularity of some of its games such as ‘FIFA’, and a brand-new game called ‘A Way Out’.
Conclusion
The gaming industry is in a weird position right now. Very few new games are making an impact on the present gaming scenario. Gaming industries have shifted from making fun and interesting games to creating cash-grabbing systems that deliver little in terms of gaming experience but clutches at your pockets like a leech. However, Web.com Reviews believes that there are still some reputed developers left, along with some indie studios which are still doing their best to create fun and interactive games.
